A little introduction...

Greetings fans and friends,

For those that don’t know me, I’m Jennifer Reger, co-founder of Gothic Lolita Wigs, RockStar Wigs, and Dolluxe.  My brother, Charles Reger, and I started Gothic Lolita Wigs a few years ago and have been working extremely hard to bring Japanese street fashion to the mainstream in the western world.  Charles is chief designer of all of our products, and I am managing partner.

Charles’ education at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles and a two-year stint teaching English in Japan are the foundation for everything we do.  He was fascinated by the Japanese for their food, fashion, and overall culture, and returned to the States with the idea of designing wigs to go with their street fashion.  We still incorporate a lot of Japanese fashion into Gothic Lolita Wigs’ designs, but for RockStar Wigs, he’s inspired by pop-culture (throughout the decades), Manhattan street fashion, and random ideas for hair he wishes he was brave enough to rock. Outside of work, you can probably find him trying new ethnic restaurants, walking his itty-bitty dog Duncan, or at home watching Homeland.

Prior to being able to work full-time at GLW, I ran a couple of film festivals and managed an independent film distributor.  Running a film festival is a lot like being managing partner of a start-up. You spend weeks without sleep; you get to meet a lot of new and amazing people; everyday is completely different; and it’s (almost) always fun.  I still haven’t reached a point where I know what’s coming next - everyday is its own adventure. For example, today I had lunch with John and Deneice Leigh from Anime Matsuri to discuss an upcoming contest, and tomorrow I am meeting with the designers of our new website.  It’s not all work though. In my free-time, I’m usually thirfting for vintage dresses and housewares, playing nap-time with my normal-sized dog Ichiban, seeking silliness, or dancing like a spastic monkey.

Our company is still growing, and it feels like we are at the most exciting time yet.  Our brands are recognized by people who have never worn a wig or false eyelashes, which is the best endorsement we could wish for.  Charles is currently on an Asian tour seeking new ideas, and we have a new marketing chick starting in two weeks.   We have so many ideas, new products, and new designs coming out.  It feels like we’ve just hit a rebirth of sorts, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. I love everything we do.  I love talking with our amazing muses. I love working with different photographers. I love going through hundreds of photos.  I love interacting with our awesome customers.  I love traveling to new places.  I love playing with different cosmetic formulas as we try to get Dolluxe created.  I love getting to wear different hair daily.  It’s definitely a fun ride. I’m not sure where it’s going, but I’m happy to finally have a few moments to share some insight about us with you.  Thank you so much for your support.  We wouldn’t be anywhere without all of you.  Happy Halloween!

Wigfully yours,
Jenn Reger
